Cordoba

After finishing the walk we decided it was time to start heading south again in search of warmer weather. Cordoba was our first stop. After weeks if walking it was quite bizarre (but very fun) to travel by high speed train. We had visited Cordoba before and very much enjoyed returning. We balanced old favourites with new sights and experiences.

The alcazar in Cordoba features a wonderful and extensive garden, and although late in the season there was still lots of colour.

The Mezquita is the stunning centrepiece of Corboba.

The stunning arches inside the Mezquita. The cathedral was built inside the existing mosque after the reconquest of Spain and it is still used as a church. You can visit for free from 8:30 to 9:30 when mass happens and it is a lovely time as although tthere are lots of people it never feels crowded as it would later in the day.

The Plaza of Corredera. It didn't feel warm enough to sit outside but this usually lively square also houses the market.
