Body paragraph

We started the day with delicious fruit in the courtyard, then wandered into town for coffee. When we were in the store getting buns and cheese for lunch, we decided that a custard tart would be the perfect thing to call it a complete breakfast. We did some hand washing then headed out to the beach.

It felt pretty liberating to be in sandals and with only our daypack. The sandy path down to the beach is part of one of the circular routes that can be added on to this part of the trail, but we had decided that we’d just make it beach time. The beach was incredible, going on and on. A river runs along it and it was perfect for wading. We walked for a long ways, found some shelter for an excellent picnic and then sought out a spot on the dunes out of the wind.

On our way back to town we checked out one of the promising sounding restaurants that tonight would be open, and it was good knowing that we had that all planned. After a brief rest back at the hotel, we headed to the little local museum. It was a really beautiful spot and done with the full participation of the village. We also stopped to admire the church/fort complex and realized that the town was growing on us. Ice cream bars in the plaza, more lollygagging in the comfortable courtyard and then dinner brought our rest day to a close.
